2011 was a year of consistent achievement and strong growth for Area9, with the beneficiaries being Area9’s clients.  Area9 proved that being outstanding is as easy as operating the best medium-sized company to offer IT solutions, products and services in Darwin, Northern Territory.  A consultative approach, professional service, market knowledge and innovative practices ensured Area9’s clients received excellent solutions to suit their business needs.

Awards

Area9 was the winner of the 2011 Telstra Business Awards Medium Business Award (NT).  This is a testament to Area9’s exceptional products and services, its progressive leadership team and highly trained staff.

But there’s more...

Area9 also won the 2011 Telstra Business Awards Social Responsibility Award (NT), in recognition of its efforts in giving back to the community.  Area9 in work experience programs with more than 10 local schools, a valuable way to play a small part in the growth of the NT economy.  Area9 contributed a portion of its annual profit to each of its charity customers, donated IT equipment and IT infrastructure management services to these clients.

Innovations...Leading the Way in IT Services and Solutions

Area9 enhanced its position as market leader in 2011, with the launch of its Cloud Computing Centre in Darwin.  The Hon. Rob Knight MLA, then Minister for Business, officially opened the Centre, along with Duncan Bennet, Vice President and Managing Director of VMware Australia and New Zealand.  Area9 became the 3rd company in Australia to achieve cloud computing endorsement by VMware, and is a first of its kind for the Territory IT industry.  Area9’s story went global, with worldwide online media including the Wall Street Journal, publishing articles on Australia’s “Tropical Cloud”.

Corporate Sponsorship

For the second year running, Area9 was the platinum sponsor of October Business Month, an annual program of business events hosted by the NT Department of Business and Employment.  Area9’s sponsorship secured keynote speakers such as Johanna Griggs, Lisa Curry and Ross Clennett and Steve Davis.  Area9 also sponsored the major prizes, and some very happy business people were excited to win an iPad2 in Darwin and another in Alice Springs.

Community Sponsorship

Area9 sponsored the Waratahs Football Club in Darwin, supporting the club with funding that is used in part to recruit Territorians from remote communities.

2012 – Faster, Smarter and More Bang for Buck
