Area9, along with valued partner HP, proudly sponsored the major prize at the October Business Month (OBM) keynote event with Naomi Simson in Darwin on Wednesday 7th October.

The winner of the HP Elitebook 1020 was Caz Coleman, the Director of Melaleuca Refugee Centre.  Caz has worked in policy, advocacy and management in the asylum and refugee field for 15 years.  For the past six years Caz has been a member of the Ministerial Council for Asylum Seekers and Detention (MCASD) providing independent advice to various Ministers for Immigration in both a Labor and Coalition government.

Caz won the laptop, valued at $2,500, with her winning statement:

"Living in Darwin I travel regularly interstate and like to have my computer/notebook in my handbag.  The slim and light nature of the HP 1020 is the greatest feature for me as it makes it accessible but won't break my shoulder as I transit through airports and cities".

Congratulations Caz and thank you to all participants who entered the competition.

"It is a delight to have been selected to receive the HP Elitebook 1020 from Area9.  As an NGO we don't often get the chance to secure high functioning technical equipment so the chance to use the Elitebook daily is a treat.  It has already proven to be easy to transport in the pannier of my bicycle so travelling interstate with it should be a breeze. Thank you Area9!"
